We have two machines (both running Win 98se) hooked up via a router and accessing the net on cable modem. This works so far (both machines see the www). We now want to be able to share access to each others Hard Drives and the printers that are attached to each machine, thus creating a home network. The printer on one machine is an HP Laserjet 5L (regular laser) and the printer on the other machine is a Lexmark Z31 (color inkjet). Can anyone help please?

Thanks Zippy, that site was helpful and we have managed to sort the above problems.

Do you know how I can block internet access for my kid after a certain time. We are using Linksys 4 port router.

You might want to consider Kiddesk software to limit your kid's internet usage. Depending on how old/sophisticated your kid is, it can be a pretty effective tool.
