I have 7 pcs spread throughout my lan. I have a lynksys wireless router that has 3 laptops using wireless. Then a cable goes to a switch that connects one pc. Then another cable goes from that switch to another switch and that switch has 3 pcs hooked to it. Here is the problem. I can not ping one of my pcs. This pc is hooked up to the 1st switch. For some reason i am unable to ping this pc from any other pc on the lan. I uninstalled zonealarm on it. Al pcs get internet fine. I have run GFI languard from all pcs and they do not even see it. I know the lan ip of it, (192.168.1.106), and i see it on the dhcp table of the router. WTF?? thanks jorge

I actually solved this by uninstalling the Cisco VPn dialer. I only use it to connect to the University of florida network like once a month. But it is never on, or at least i never thought it was ruinning in the background. :p, it seemed to fix the ping problem.

that would have been my suggestion to check for.. lol .. i am just kidding.. glad you worked out the issue and gave a fix statement. to many times poeple fix things and donot pass the info on..
