Hi all. New to this site. I am using my dads computer to try to figure out my problem. I came home from school a few days ago and we set up a new network through a DSL connection. Well, we have a Linksys Router and a DSL modem that we have hooked up to run both of our computers. Well, for about a day I had internet. It worked fine. My dad did too. Never had a problem. My dad has the internet and now i dont. Also, now my computer is giving me that error - Limited or No Connectivity. I tried the Windows Bug Fix, didnt work. I tried using WinSock, didnt work. I tried Uninstalling and reinstalling my network card, didnt work. I simply tried unplugging the power to the router and modem, didnt work. I checked all the lines and connections (i have a hard line router), didnt work. Is there ANYTHING i can do. I have been looking on other forums and didnt find anything. This forum looked like it had the most responsible and professional answers. I realize that this could simply be the router or it could be something different. If at all possible, i would like NOT to do a system restore because being home is just a temporary thing until i go back to school. I can work fine there. So i think it must be the router. Any help would be more than appriciated. Thanks

Dad's computer works on the internet so you know it not modem/router hardware.
You have "limited" which usually indicates a HARDWARE failure.Did you swap your patch cord with your dads and rebooted?
Do you get a ip address from the router?
Is your nic working? [all the lites lite?]
Any errors in Event Viewer?Golly gee wilerkers everyone! Learn to Internet Search

If you're running Win XP, find the wireless icon next the clock in the system tray, right click on it and select 'repair'. Wait for about a minute or so and see if that fixes your problem. If not, get to your run dialog box and type cmd (this will apply only if you're running XP). Once you're in a DOS box type ipconfig /release all and wait a few seconds and when you get back to your prompt type this ipconfig /renew all and wait a few seconds again till you see an IP address. Hopefully this helps.
