Hi all! I'm trying to troubleshoot my wireless network for many days now without any success; please help me!

I have a Laptop and a desktop, both wireless capable (802.11 G), a Linksys WRT54G Router, and a DSL connection (512 kbps).

The problem is when I transfer file from computer to Laptop or vice (internal network )- versa, the max speed I get is 120 kbps :(

Earlier I used to get around 2 mbps. Because of this reasons, file transfers and streaming media from each other is real pain.

This is what I've alreay tried.

1) Checking that I'm actually connected at 54 Mbps; infact right now my Laptop and computer is in within 5 feet or my Linksys Router.

2) Checking that wireless transfer mode in my Router is set at 802.11 G.

3) Re-installed drivers for wireless cards, both for Laptop and Desktop.

4)I know this sounds stupid, but I have formatted by desktop and reload the OS.

This is driving me crazy; please people, help me!!!!!
