Hello everyone,

I am working on a project for school what we had to do was set up a small network using a program called Boson NetSim. I have done this my network consists of 3 routers, 6 switches, and 18 computers.

Each router is connected to 2 switches and each of the switches is connected to 3 computers.

So I have 3 sub networks all connected to one big network.

Now my job is to assign each sub network its own sub net addresses.

I can use any IP addresses I want, because this is just a simulator.

They should all be on the same network, with their own subnets. I am also supposed to configure the subnets to waste as little space as possible.

I am having trouble figuring out how to do this, if anyone can help me i'de be estatic.

Thank you.

Dude, I don't mean to offend you, but if you don't even know where to begin, fire the teacher, or go ask them for help if they covered this and you're having this much trouble.

I could provide an answer, but you then wouldn't understand subnetting, thereby wasting your time for taking this class. And if the class presentation of the material didn't help you, I seriously doubt anyone helping you in a forum like this is gonna do it for you. Too hard to explain through ASCI text. :-/

This page (http://www.aboutdebian.com/network.htm) is on a site for setting up Linux servers. But, the networking page goes into great detail about how to properly segregate networks and subnet accordingly.
