You can connect it as described and it should work. Only not all the computers can connect to each other. Works find for internet sharing only.

You are using a webserver such as IIS? The two name servers you are running into are probably the two name servers that any domain has to be pointed at. Do you know if you are running your own DNS server? Do you know what name servers your own domain points to. You will probably want to point your sister's domain at the same name servers yours points to.

You can go to a site such as http://www.nsiregistry.com and put the domain name into the "WHOIS" search field to see what name servers the domains are currently pointing to.

Basically, three things have to happen for your site to be up and active to the world.

1) Your domain has to be registered with a registrar (such as Network Solutions), and they have to point the domain to the name servers responsible for the domain.
2) Those name servers have to have entries for the domain telling people what IP address to resolve the domain to (www.blah.com resolves to 77.66.55.44, for example). This essentially tells everybody what IP address the web server is on.
3) The web server has to actually have the domain setup and have all the web files for it.

Good luck!

ok...

let's say my Ip (the server) is 24.88.141.106
which it is..

and lets say i have registered the domain serenehealing.com (which i have)

ok, i have it "parked" right now...

but i want serenehealing to resolve to 24.88.141.106.. but in order to do that.. it wants name servers.. no i am not running my own DNS servers.. (didn't think i had to)

so what happens when i find a permanent host, to they have a dns server???

i bought the domain from http://www.secureserver.net/

and i did not buy hosting from them....
i feel kinda stupid now as too i thought i kidna had a clue what was going on.. pelase help!!
