I am having troubles with closed/Strict NAT
on XBL and Bittorrent. I have a Speedstream
4200 Modem and a Belkin f5d7230-4 Wireless
Router connection to PC. I am having
problems putting the speedtream in bridge
mode. Every time i set it up in bridge mode
my internet connection drops out. I am
updating the Belkin with PPOE settings. I am
following this guide: http://www.phoenixthesmeg.freeserve...
wto/sss4200.html.

What am i doing wrong? Do i need to change
any DHCP settings on wither device? Any help
or possibly a guide on how to configure both
devices correctly would be greatly
appreciated.

Yes, what exactly is it you wish to accomplish?

Chances are what you've doing is not what you need to do to accomplish your goal.

Is there a passthrough mode?

I assume you are trying to use your router to use the logon features like smart connect. Your isp's logon has to be in the router.

Also the subnet's might be an issue. Might have to access the web based interface on the modem and then set to passthrough. Then re-connect to the router. Set wan port on router to get public ip. Might need crossover if not already too (should auto though)

Then any OS should use at least the router's ip for dns, but might not need that even. Set lan to dhcp should work.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
