I need help setting up an XP to Win 95 network using a crossover cable (twisted pair)..Both pc's have 10/100 NIC's in them and both seem to be working properly. I just can't get the to computers to talk to each other. Can someone tell me what I need to do to get this up and running? I tried for several hours the other night to no avail.

first and foremost you need to configure/check the IP adddress on them to make sure they are in the same subnet
i.e use 192.168.0.2 for the XP machine then use 192.168.0.3 for the windows 95 machine the subent mask 255.255.255.0 should be the same for both of them though
Also make sure they are memebers of the same workgroup
