I have above hp windows vista pc connected to a sky router which is also used by two wireless laptops,I wanted to connect an old desktop pc with windows millenium through router,first of all I tried to use a wireless lan usb adapter which worked in a fashion and allowed some very slow access to internet and certain websites just wouldnt open.The old desktop as no ethernet port so i purchased an usb ethernet adapter and then tried to connect directly linking my old pc to the sky router,but this as not worked at all,can anyone please tell me what i'm doing wrong.

What is not working? The adapter or networking?

Go to a command prompt and type ipconfig and post your ip address and gateway.
