Hey can someone please help me I so confused right now. I'm trying to conect 2 wireless linksys routers together so I can get good wireless reception on the lower and upper levels of my house. Now if I want to wire connect the two routers together how do I do that. What wires should be pluged in to what ports. One router is 802.11a/b and the other is just b I don't know if this makes a difference. Any help would be appreciated

You need to turn off DHCP and/or NAT on the second router. If the second router has an uplink port then you can use a straight through patch cable to connect the two routers. Connect one end to one of the numbered ports on the first router and the other end to the uplink port on the second router.
If no uplink port is available on the second router. Then use a crossover patch cable and connect on end to a numbered port on the first router and connect the other end to a numbered port on the second router. Then cycle the power to each router.

Hope this helps.

thank you very much for the tips, I have no uplink port all i have is a port marked internet and then the 4 router ports. Do you know if linksys make a wireless router\access point with an uplink port. If I just had an access point instead of a second router could this still be done cuz the only port on the access point is the lan port

It can be done with either one. In the absence of an uplink port, you have to use a crossover cable.
