I have a Dos machine that I run a BBS on, and I want to access it with my xp machine. I installed dos client 3.0, then copied dos server to it to become a dos server. I changed the system.ini file to reflect file and print sharing on the bbs. I start the dos machine with net start server, and share the c: drive. Both machines see one another, but when I try to logon to the dos machine with the xp machine, it tells me I need to contact the administrator for access privledges. I can log into the xp machine with the dos machine fine and see all files. How do I set up to allow access. The share commad I use is "net share BBS=C:\ /remark:"Server C-Drive" /full /yes". and I get a command compleated successfull. I am using netbeui as the protocol, as that is the only one I could use where both machines see each other. I am network aware, as I used lantastic for years, but I can't afford lan 8.0 for the xp machine at the present time. Any help would be appreciated.
