Hard-Wired Network and WIFI

April 29, 2011 at 08:34:39
Specs: Windows XP, 1.0Gb
I am using a hard-wired Ethernet network that includes a cable modem that is attached to a router with four ports, all of which are being used. I was offered an IPad but I understand that it only uses WIFI to connect to the Internet. Is there a any device that I can attach to the cable modem so that I can connect to the router and to the appropriate device needed for the IPad to have WIFI capability?

Thank you.
Brian W

replace the router with a wireless version.

anything else will cost you more money.

Dear Wanderer,

Thank you for your response; however, the two printers and two computers I use in my hard-wired network do not have wireless capability.

Guess you didn't know wireless routers come with 4 wired ports. If you need more wired ports you add a switch.

Thank you for your response; I'll get a wireless router that also has hardwired ports.
