Did you try "File and Printer Sharing"? To set this up:1) Right click on the client PC 2) Left click on Properties 3) Click on "File and Printer Sharing" and check to allow to share your files. This will add Netbios and Client for Microsoft Networks. 4) Click on the Identification tab on your network properties and specifiy a workgroup (this is going to be exactly the same on all your pcs). 5) Click OK to close Network Properties and restart your workstation. 6) Once your workstation is back up open Explorer (type explorer under Start/Run). 7) Right click on whatever folder you want to share then click on Share. You can then specify what kind of rights users have.

Some applications use FTP for auto updates , so what i want to do is identify a computer on my network as an FTP server for these applications to take the update files from . so i won't need all my computers to take updates from internet . is there a way to do this ?
Thanks

You can install Personal Web Server on the workstation you want to be the FTP server. I think it comes with Windows98 and probably 2000.
