I have a home network running Win 2k3 server. I have successfully got the ftp server running because i can connect to it from my client behind the network. So now I need to give access to others from outside so dont I have to setup port forwarding on my router?
What do I put for inbound port xxxx - xxxx and what do I put for type TCP/UDP ? and What do I put for private port xxxx - xxxx ?

1) Put whatever ports you want users to come in on. I would assume this would be 21 inbound (ftp convention), but the internal network port (the port on which the traffic travels once inside your network) can be whatever you want. Be sure to have it set to the same port as the server. Both could be 21 if you wanted it that way.
2) Put TCP.

Thanks for the reply. But I still have a problem. I put the values in for my router but I still cannot connect when I type in my WAN IP using CuteFTP but I still can connect using the IP of the server behind the firewall. I have DHCP enabled on the Win2k3 server and disabled on the router setup page. Maybe that will help. Thanks for your help.
