hi all, i am trying to connect ot a friends computer via ftp, however we both sit behind routers. we can connect to eachothers actual router address and see the files on the router but when we try to then connect to the computer it fails.

ftp://user:pass@routeraddress

this works however

ftp://user:pass@routeraddress@computer address

this fails.

if any one can shed some light on this problem.........

Reply:

try forwarding port 21 on your routers. 21 is the standard port for ftp stuff.

consult your router's manual to learn how to forward ports
