I want to upload files from my PC at work to my PC at home. I have cuteFTP and know how to use it as I have used it for many websites, but now I want to use it for the purpose mentioned above. I select the source, which is the folder on my local drive at work, but how do I enter the destination as my hard drive at home?
Basically what path should I enter for the destination? Will it be in the form of my home pc's ip address?
Is this actually possible?
Any help will be much appreciated, thanks.

You enter the IP address of the destination computer. However, the destination computer must be running an FTP server to upload files via FTP.

You might find it simpler to use software like PC Anywhere or VNC to create the connection between two remote PC's and then transfer files.
An alternative with CuteFTP is if you have access to an FTP site on the web that you can first upload the files to from work or wherever and then connect to from home to download them.

VNC cannot transfer files, as far as I know. Besides, it's not the right tool for the job. Why use a remote desktop solution to transfer files when that's exactly what ftp is for?
Short answer, beansprout, you have to be running an ftp server program on your computer at home like Stuart said.

I use Xitami or Imatix spelled backwards. This server is FREE and very simple to use. You can also password protect as well as designate what type of access to the particular folders. The documentation could have been written better, but when you understand what they are saying...it is very easy to configure. Email me if you need some quick help.
