i have set up iss and a site for a server that will a user to ftp in for unix to transfer some files using anonumous login. the servers are in a private network. we have set this up before but the person who did it has left and i seam to have hit a snag.
in the origninal one all you do is ftp to the server then login with the username annoymous then thats it donsent need a password. however the one i set up comes up with (331 Anonymous access allowed, send identity (e-mail name) as password.)
then when i put something in it fails so how do i remove this so i dont need a password?

all text needs typos. There there for the reader to find,to distract them from the total lack of content.
google it! wasnt the answer to the question i asked so dont be dense and give me that repl

I suspect you have something else misconfigured. By default, most ftp servers use "email address" for the password. Or, to put it more clearly, anonymous login information for most (if not all) ftp servers is as follows:

user name = anonymous
password = email address

If the above doesn't work, then you likely have other issues and need to RTFM on your ftp server setup and go through it again.

yeah well some one before me got it to login without the email part and just put an X in there.
this is what im trying to replicate so that we just fire in the same slightly altered unix script to do the cron job.

as for RTFM well unfortunatly time i dont have. im trying to reverse engineer whats already been in a limited time frame as i got 100 other things i could be doing

It takes less time to RTFM than posting your question and waiting for an answer!
