frustration! connection drops...

hey guys...
man this problem is annoying...
i have broadband...connected to a netgear wpn824 wireless router. my pc upstairs has a netgear wpn311 adapter. all the firmware is up to date... no it will connect. and after say 5 minutes or so it will drop. then sometimes it will come back. sometimes it wont. sometimes it stays good for a week. as far as i know...i wouldnt know wat it does while im at school or watever. wat else can i say.. umm well im not sure... im alright with computers but i never really done much with wireless networkin...and im fed up with this problem after about 10 months..lol
so yeah cheers guys...hope u can help

oh actually i can tell u something else..
wen i go down and pull out the power for the router the connection comes back.
also my pc detects the connection, just cant connect.

First, check the signal strength that your wireless adapter is connecting at. Is it 5 bars? If it is lower than 3, then there is your problem.

Second, try switching the frequency by logging into the router and changing it to another level.
