Front Side Bus or FSB is used by the motherboard/CPU to determine the CPU speed.
IE: 6x100fsb gives you 600mhz

Front-side bus:
The bus within a microprocessor that connects the CPU with main memory. It's used to communicate between the motherboard and other components in a computer system.

So, to realize the speed of a microprocessor with say, 100MHz bus, you need to deploy a mainboard with 100MHz bus as well.
