Hi folks,
I quit the Internet service for want of enough finance, so right now I am taking free Internet service from net zero, but this service provides only 10 hours per month, and this is not good enough for all month.
Under above those circumstances, can you let me know any free good Internet service except net zero? I will be appreciating about that!
Thanks

Please I need your help to deserve the PC knowledge!

You're not the only one to complain about the free internet provided by NetZero. Many people have complained about it in this long post (26 pages). Nevetheless this ISP may be your best option and a lot better than not having any internet access at all.

Otherwise start browsing through Google-generated links of the so-called free internet service providers HERE.

Good luck.

P.S. If you are a resident of Suffolk County in NY, you already have free internet access through the Public Libraries. The drawback? You must be a registered library patrons in good standing and be willing to comply with the policies set forth by your local branch. Lastly you must limit your use during peak hours (8 am - midnight) to only one hour per day.

That is not of any help, but some travellers might be interested: in Paris (Fr) you have outdoor free Internet in every public park, and they are numerous. Don't know what the transfert rate is.

What is not of any help? I stand by what I wrote on the assumption that the OP machine is a desktop. You are talking using a laptop to access free public hotspots or Municipal Wi-Fi.

If you are traveling be aware that municipal wi-fi spots are mostly available only in cities you probably never heard of. Look HERE for current location of availability.

XPuser, I live in Suffolk County, NY. The Suffolk providing free internet access is Suffolk in England.

Hi steigrafx

My badness - you're correct about the link I posted that actually applies to England & Wales. Since you mentioned you live in the Suffolk portion of Long Island, is it true that the Suffolk County Libraries provide free internet as the following link implied?

I was looking into free Internet a few years ago. Spent a lot of time researching what was available, I did not find anything that worked that well. It's a lot to expect, actually, it does cost a lot of money to maintain a modem pool for people to dial into and a decent Internet connection. I finally accepted "almost" free. I was very satisfied with the service I got from usnetizen.com for only $7 a month. They are all over the country and it always seemed to work well for me (I did not need any kind of "technical support", so other's experience might differ). What I liked about it was that it did not require any kind of "setup" software be installed on my computers. I just set up the dial-up networking according to the directions provided and was able to consistently connect without problems and would often stay connected for hours. Only rarely did I have to wait 20 minutes or so to get an open line. I would still be using them, but the current place I rent comes with Internet connection.

XpUser, calm down baby, how can you think I would have dared to say your continuous and appreciated help could not be of any help. I was just talking about my post.
