The only way to create a domain is to use a Windows Server OS, and dcpromo it to a domain controller by installing Active Directory.

Right i did thing this, what i wanted to know i could create it like it was on a domain, so the user has the same desktop, Favotites, My Documents, Shared Folders, etc. Also user restrictions, and also which users can accses which shared folder.

You could bring up a Linux flavor running SAMBA and emulate an NT Domain. That would work with XP. You can't do any AD without AD.

Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search

If you want Directory Services you could use OpenSolaris.
