Folks,
I provide free WiFi access in a small biz to attract customers.
I'm using just a standard grade wireless router (changed the default login to protect settings)..
However....when folks first connect to the router....I would like it to default (force) to a certain Web Page (the one for my Biz)...before they more on.
I have seen this at some restaurants, etc,,,that provide free WiFi. When you first connect...no matter what your home page is....it will first bring up the restaurants page.
Can most routers do this? Or do need something on the higher end?
Thanks very much.

No soho router can do that (that I know of). Most people use something like a cheap computer running internet cafe software. Some are linux based but you'll find windows apps free and for sale versions.
See also hot spot software.
Some firewalls may offer such a feature, either in hardware or software versions.

Thanks very much....will check that out.
I have a few old PCs that can be used for that....it may allow a few more controls as well (security, etc.)
(BTW...if you have not already seen it.....check out hulu.com for a documentary on Les Paul....it's pretty good.)

Thanks. I'll look at it. If you mean Chasing Sound, then I recorded it about 2 years ago.
Funny thing is I just transcribed his Chasing Shadows tune.
