We recently got Verizon FIOS. We got the 20mb plan. When we try to set up a wireless network, we succeeded, but we noticed when we did a speed check that on both pc's that we connected it too, the speed was reduced to 9.7 or 10 mbs download, and Upload was about 2200kb. And in cases between tests, it got very slow, like 2.0mb. Now we noticed that the pc connected by wire to the Fios adapter had the full speed (20mb).
So I am wondering if there is a hardware or software that we have to get to achieve full speeds, because our old Dsl connection (3mb)was distributed at 3mb to every wireless connected pc, so could it be a compatibility issue? Keep in mind I we have dsl wireless cards.
