I would like to use "Remote Desktop Connection" when out of town to conect to my home computer. I have a modem cable connection. Question #1: is my home IP constantly changing with cable modem connection ? Question #2; how can I find my IP address if it is permanent ? Thanks Gene, Florida

#1. It may be, depends on ISP. Try contacting your ISP and ask.
#2. IPCONFIG in a command window
If you have a changing IP address, you may be interested in "dynamic dns", which I use. This is a free service which allows you to chose a hostname (like gene.homedns.org) and update it to your current IP on the website, or use one of a range of automatic updaters which are listed there. I don't think they like too frequent updating, but if you keep your main machine online most of the time it shouldn't be a problem
