Finding manufacturer of NIC's by MAC address

Comment:
Is there a site wher I can do this type of search. I plug in the MAC of the NIC and it will tell me the make and model of a certain NIC? I know they're regulated by the FCC, but I couldn't find anything there. Thanks in advance for your help.

Have a look: standards.ieee.org/regauth/oui/index.html there is a database where you can find out about the Organizationally Unique Identifier (OUI) of your NIC.
