Heey,

How can I find out which are the blocked port numbers (udp and tcp) in my solaris machine.

Is there any simple command which if i execute from the same machine, tells me these are the ports which are blocked.

Or do i need to use any port scan tools from another machine and figure out.

Please help!
Thanx in advance
Sajith

I cannot see why you wouldn't be able to run a portscan on your own machine. You can use Grim's Ping to scan your own machine. It's available at: http://grimsping.cjb.net/

you may want to look at /etc/services

If certain protocols (udp/tcp) have been blocked they may be commented out in this file. If so, and you wish to reenstate these protocols, simply uncomment the protocol that is commented out and do a 'pkill -HUP inetd' this will reread the inetd.conf file so your changes will take effect.
