I am looking for a free utility that will recover MS XP product keys over a network enviroment. My problem is the place i am now working for has all their XP discs/papers in a box with the sticker still on the manual. I need to know which of the keys goes to which computer. I have a utility that will retrieve the code but I have to actually go to each computer. I want to be able to retrieve all codes from all computers from one location (server if need be).
Thanks

What is your network setup? Are you running a Domain with AD?
Life is more painless for those who are brainless.

Above link looks good.
Access macnines remotely. Consider chriscontrol or pcanywhere sort of deal. You might be able to access the drives too.
As far as a survey you should go to each compouter and verify each sticker matches the installed product. Sounds like some overtime.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.

I apoligize for not commenting earlier. Been a little busy this past week.
Network is a Server 2003 running AD on the domain.
I havent tried tonysathre link yet but i will post when i see what he had to offer.
Thanks

tonysathre... many many many thanks to you!!
That is exactly what i needed.
Now if i could just find a program that will change that Win XP product key. Seems as if the guy that was here before me loaded 15+ computers with the same key and they only have 5 licenses bought with that code.
I have since bought them another open license with 20 licenses but I cant find a program that will change the product key if SP2 has been installed. I hate to have to format all these computers just to get in compliance.
any ideas?
