I Have a two desktops at my home. I also have a D-link router(Cable and wireless) One is connected to the router via Ethernet cable while the other is connected via wireless using a PROLINK wireless adapter. Both computers have internet access. I want to share files between both desktops. What should I do???

Enable file sharing on both, share the drives on both, if you want full access to each. Share only certain folders if that's all that's needed. Put both PCs in the same workgroup. Map shares from one to the other.

It's pretty simple task. You can check out these simple file sharing in XP or share file with user/group permission in XP pro articles to help you.
