I have a Linksys router(BEFSR41 VER.2) that I use to share internet access between 2 computers one running W2K the other win 98 . I also share a printer that is physical connected to my W2k machine via the router .

My problem is access the folders on my win 98 machine when I'm on the W2K . Going vice-versa I am able to to open folders from the W2k machine on the win98 system. I keep getting a error message saying wrong password when i know the password I setup is correct . I am able to see the computer, shared file but when i try to open i get this error. Has anyone had this in the past or have any suggestions?

I have similar arrangement as you. But I have problems in even mapping the drives from each other, though I can ping to each other. How did you accomplish that part?
Also, how do you make the printer as network printer using this Linksys DSL router?
Your help will be much appreciated, though I could not help resolving your problem.
Thanks

I found out that my problem was not a router problem but an issue with Windows. First I had to make sure I had the same protocols installed on each machine, which I did.
Make sure they where in the same workgroup, which they where.
And make sure I had drive and file sharing, on which I did. On the win98 machine I deleted the info about username and password (permission) to share the files that I wanted to see on the other machine and put the same info in again
. That time it took and I was able to see the files on my win98 system from the W2K system .
.
I use a software firewall and had to give myself permission to ping the other machine.

Also my printer is physically connected to my main computer. All I needed was to enable printer and file sharing via printer and file sharing in network neighborhood and add network printer and add printer wizard in control panel.
Of course the machine that my printer is connected to has to be on for the other machine to print.

I'm sure that you can put your printer in the router and give it an IP address and be able to print if the other machine is on or not but I'm not sure if that's what you are wanting to do.

Sorry it took me so long to post, but I got it figured out shortly after I post and didn't get back to check.

Hope this helps
