Hi,
I recently enhanced my existing home network (that already shares broadband via a Linksys router) with a wireless router from D-Link (it was on sale).
Unfortunately, the wireless laptop cannot see any of the computers on Linksys. Internet connection was successfully shared from the Linksys to the WAN uplink on D-Link. But not being able to share files between the laptop and the rest of the network is a bummer.
The laptop is setup to join the same workgroup as the other computers. Each computer is running a different flavor of Windows, but that shouldn't be an issue.
Anyone know if I need certain ports opened, or something like that? Eventually I'd like the laptop to send print jobs to the rest of the home network too.
Thanks for any help you can provide!
Can you ping IP addresses of the computers behind the linksys router??
What kind of cable did you use to connect the two routers together? You might need to use crossover cable.
Some D-link routers have a firewall on them, is it on ?? If so try turning it off.
Just somethings to tryCaveman
