Im running four computers on a network. I was wondering if I could set a password on certain folders that are shared over my network. Thanks!

It's called "Permissions".
I assume each user has their own individual password?
Right click on the files and go to "Properties". You will be able to allow or deny permission to individual users.

Yes. XP Home Edition uses Peer to Peer network.
A peer to peer network is one in which lacks a dedicated server and every computer acts as both a client and a server. A peer to peer network can be a security nightmare, because the people setting permissions for shared resources will be users rather than administrators and the right people may not have access to the right resources.

linquist666, If your network uses the Internet, the best you can do is set your shared folders to be read only, hide the file shares by using a $ sign after the folder name, or if your using the NTFS file system, use the 'Make Private" option in the folder properties.
