File Sharing on Windows XP

I want to basically use some type of password for a file share on windows XP.
I've tried doing it through the standard assign a user an password, then give him permissions to the share and no one else, but then while trying to connect to the share from another computer, it doesn't let you choose to enter a username/password to connect.

I have the same problem :( What you've done is probably correct but stupidly Microsoft made it so that the client sompluter has to logout and use the username/pass there, log back in, THEN see the network shares. I think this is a stupid idea because username/password files of windows are so easy to crack it just lets anyone get acess to your system Hope this helps - Alt
