My Vista machine can see shared folders & disks on my XP system, but my XP system can only see the Public folder of my Vista machine. I've read alot of posts, but has anybody solved this?

Why do you want to wreck a security feature?
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

I'll never understand why people waste time on threads asking why. Never mind why. Vista says you can share. You can even set up a share for your C Drive, but then it is not accessible. There must be a way. If anybody knows how to get it to work, please be kind enough to share the steps you used to make it work.

Your question is confusing. Has anybody ever solved what exactly? Solved the fact that Vista has a shared "public" folder? Solved that Vista can see all of XP's shares?
You need to phrase your question a little more clearly if you actually want a sensible reply.
Personally, I've never touched vista and never will so I can't answer any of your questions. What I can tell you is that this is the networking forum and your question is NOT a networking question. It's an operating system question.
So, I highly recommend you go to the Vista forum and ask you vista question there (See the link to the right that says "Windows Vista", click on it to go to that forum). I also suggest you take a moment to ask a clear, intelligent question.
