File Sharing but no copy.

Hi,
i'm sharing some files on my LAN network but i don't want them to copy or download. So, any ideas how to do this.

What else are you going to do if you download or copy them.
If you want to open a file on a remote computer, for instance a graphics image, it is first downloaded to the local machine. There is no other way of doing it.
The only thing you can do is prevent people fram changing your files, otherwise disable file sharing altogether.
I cannot be opened on the remote machine and the results displayed on the local machine, not without some complicated software which is what remote desktop software does.

set the files/folders on the "server" system, for read only and share them. i disagree w/stuart. the files will readily be available to the workgroup. this is the primary purpose of ms's file & print sharing (vs traditional a client-server app).

I didn't say they wouldn't be available, just that they had to be downloaded to the local machine before they can be used.
Even on a file/server system, files have to be downloaded to the local machine before they can be used, except large database files which are just downloaded in small chunks as required.
