I am setting up a home network trying to share files between 5 computers all have XP pro except 1 has xp home. I have a cable modem connected to a 4 port router. 3 ports go directly to computers, one port goes to a hub which goes to two computers. The xp home is on the hub along with another xp pro. I have run network setup on all computers and we can all get on the Internet and all see each others shared folders in My Network Places screen, but nobody can access the folders because it says that, "(the computer) is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact administrator of this server to find out if you have access permission. The network path was not found."
Have i set something up wrong, or do i need to set access permissions? And if so how do i do that. Really i just don't know what wrong and if anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it.

To access folders of a shared drive on Windows XP you need to have the same Users and passwords set up on each computer that you want access to.

So if Fred on Computer one wants to access files on computer two that belongs to Joe, he must also be set up as a User on computer two and Joe must also be set up on computer one if he wants to access Fred's files.

One of the limitations of Peer to Peer networking.

Disable the XP firewall on all of your XP Machines. The router's firewall keeps you network safe. The default setting for XP's firewall is "ON". Turn it off.

It needs to have Primary logon client as MS login for Microsoft Network, also it requires the NETBEUI. Install both this and check out with the results. Also as said by Stuart it need to have user name, but DIFFERENT SYSTEM NAMES.
