I've always had my laptop and desktop networked for file and printer sharing, but it just disappeared off the laptop. From the laptop I can still access the desktop but not vice versa. I tried opening the Network configuration window and the prompt for sharing was gone..next I re-selected client->add service->file and print sharing for MS networks and then it gave me the message: "System policies do not allow adding the selected device" ?????? System policies ? I'm stumped. I recently added AOL 7 but uninstalled it for the troubleshooting and still got the same results. Any ideas out there ??? Windows 98se both machines.

hi I have a similar problem. my question is if I uninstall the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks on Win 2000 pro, how to activate from the registry setting and if I may ask, which registry setting .dll file to activate. thanks
