I have taken on a project that i might need some help with. I need to extend an existing network a little less than a kilometer. after briefly researching, I think that the best way to do this is by using fiber optic cable. other methods of course would be regular ethernet cable or wireless. given the distance, the fact that i have to go outdoors between points A and B, and the cost of high-gain antennas, i think this is the best choice. my questions are: is fiber really the best choice? where are some tutorials to set it up? where should i get the equipment? and why can't i find any fiber cable over 100 meters? any help is appreciated thanks
There are only 10 types of people: those who know binary, and those who don't.
