Faster XDCC thru mIRC?

Hello, I think my school network limits the download speed through irc, I only get 5k/s on a T1.
Any way to get around this? I have tried messing with ports with no luck, maybe some more ports to try? Or any other ideas...

You're sure it's just IRC that is slow? You can download other files a lot faster? That's odd that they would slow down IRC downloads. If they wanted to keep people from using IRC, it would be a lot easier for them to just block all IRC traffic instead of just trying to slow it down.

i had the same problem, so..i tried to use a tunnel to bypass the proxies or whatever. This worked to some extent...BUT, the connection did keep droping. Try "http tunnel" that's the one i used and it reached speeds of 900k at some points (with the paid version). Beware that you'll have to do some configuring of the program AND the tunnel

Hey, Thanks nicks, but no dice. =/
It took a long time to set everything up, mirc, tunnel and that permeo thing but I was denied anything above my going rate of around 5k/s.
Haha, a download was even shutdown automatically by the sender because I couldn't get over 10k/s on my T1 line.
