faster internal or external HD's?

just wondering if i would get a faster transfer rate using an internal or an external hard drive when networked between two computers.

Probably it wouldn't matter, as long as the hard drive data transfer rate is higher than the network transfer rate. This is assuming that nothing else is using either drive.
