extending wireless range...........

Toshiba laptop

Specs: xp sp2, 1.60ghz/1gb

I've just got a quick question with a networking & sky broadband query which are linked. please bear with me.
Ok basically sky only allow customers to use their own router, so if I wanted to extend the routers range could that be dont by hooking up another router/access point to reach around my house.
Any help on what extra hardware would be needed to do this.

Many Thanks
Amit P.

You can either use a wireless repeater/extender. Some routers have this functionality. You can search the internet for compatible hardware with your current router. I bought a Netgear WGPS606 not too long ago and it works like a charm. I now have "wireless" internet access to my desktop in my basement. WIthout having to install a wireless adapter! To top it all, this hardware is a print server by design. The function as a wireless repeater/extender is a bonus.
