What is required to host my own mail server behind NAT? I have DSL with one public IP address and a Netgear router running NAT. I know I have to contact the host for our domain name and have them point the MX record to our DSL's public IP address. Then do I just configure the router to forward port 25 to the LAN address of the server? Is that it or am I missing something critical? If I want users off site to be able to access their mail on the exchange server, what port(s) would I forward to the server? Assume the people off-site are using MS Outlook in exchange server mode.
