Well sometimes at bootup you can see what make the card is but if the Operating system does not detect what the card is you just have to do the daring and open up the machine and rip out the Network card, and look at the words on it and it should say what Make and model the card is then you could go to the Manufacture website and get the drivers.

great idea. crack the case and pull the card...
used to do that before they had freeware hardware
utilities like biostweak..some of these wilkl give you a good return on the kind of nic you
are using, based on their db of component sign-
atures.

I have a PowerBook 1400c/117 with a
internal NuBus Ethernet card. I am using
Mac OS8.5. In my System Profiler I find
the card and info is:Card ID: 1744
Card name: .Focus ValueNet
Card version: EN EPIC ROM 1.1The only thing I can find on the Ethernet
card is:Part nr.: 10070
FCC ID: 10070
P/N : 10070-3Under the code stripe it says:
B08994.I get a message stating "cannot find
Ethernet Address" and then
AppleTalk goes back to modem/printer.
How can I access the Ethernet Address
to this card?
Does anyone have a driver for this
card???
I canīt seem to find it anywhere.
