Ethernet card not starting

May 16, 2011 at 14:15:01
Specs: Windows XP, Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.80GHz / 2G
My network card doesn't start or make a connection to my ADSL router when I start my desktop computer. It sometimes takes longer than 10 minutes before the connection is established. If I check the device in the Computer Management Device List it reports that the device is working properly.
My network card is a Marvell Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller and my ADSL Router is a Netgear Model DG834GT.
The router isn't setup for wireless networking. I connect via an ethernet cable to my router.
