Error message: Wireless network not in range

Specs: Windows xp

I'm trying to connect my laptop to my wireless network, the network shows up on the laptop but when i try to connect it all of a sudden says the net work is not in range. It even says it when i have the laptop right next to the router........Could it possibly be the wireless card's driver

That is distinctly possible. I would definitely try updating the driver on your wireless NIC first. If there is no newer version of the driver for that interface, you may have to remove it from Device Manager, let windows "find" it and install drivers for it again, and then finally, try connecting to your wireless network.

Try that and report back with the results.
