hi, pls help me..
i am using a generic ip address to setup a network. the main computers ip address is 192.168.0 with a sub-net of 255.255.255.0 and then each computer increments the last digit of the ip address by 1 number each time. there is only 3 pcs and 2 laptops connecting to the switch. we are using network neighbourhood. the 2 pcs that were origionally connected together can still see each other throught the new network but the other computer cant see anyone and cant bee seen. i dont kno how to fit it

does the fact that the two computers which are communicating work within a workgroup hav anything to do with it??

thanks in advance.

Just a suggestion: Enable: Obtain IP address automatically, same with DNS.
This is found on your TCP/IP properties for your network connection.

You also need to join the PC's to that Workgroup if you want them to communicate together and share files
