my wife has a dell desktop that is wired through a linksys router, and i have a dell laptop. hooked up wirelessly through same router. we both have her charter email account on our computers. my wife's desktop is partitioned into 2 parts, one running w2k, and the other running xp pro. up until a few days ago she was using w2k, but now is using xp pro because the w2k was having all kinds of problems. anyway, when she was on w2k, we could both receive all the emails sent to her account. now that she's on xppro, my laptop receives all the emails, and hers doesn't when both computers are on. she only receives emails when my laptop is shut down. can i make any adjustments to the charter email accounts on either computer to fix this?
p.s. the include this account when receiving mail or synchronizing box is checked om both computers. thanks,vandal67

Well maybe you should first determine if your wife is the admin then it'll be probably best to ask her for the changes that you want.

Oops i think Ask the wrong question. Well can I ask if you are using a program to receive emails? or you are just using the internet's email service?

my wife's xp uses outlook express 6.0. my vista has windows mail 6.0 on which i had added my wife's outlook express email account. i have deleted that account from my windows mail, so that she can receive her outlook express emails. when i had her email account added to my windows mail, she could not receive her emails, but i did.

Then you weren't configuring the mail client to leave mail on the server. You need to do that if you want to receive the same email in more than one place.
