Specs: Macintosh
Is it possible to play a DVD movie in Italy/Europe that is from the USA? I want to give a DVD as a present to a European friend. Any suggestions on how to do this so they can watch it?

I can't see why not...........a DVD should be Operating System language independent.

As to how to do it, well, if it's a DVD movie, I would pop it in the DVD-ROM/RW (whichever he/she has) and see if it doesn't autorun in Windows Media Player.

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;
I am the captain of my soul.

It depends on the DVD. If it is a commercial DVD then there is a good possibility that it wont run. Commercial DVDs come region coded so that a DVD will only work on DVD players sold in that particular region.

However, there is a way round the problem. It is possible to change a DVD player so that it is multi-region.

If it is a DVD that has been made on a computer then there are no region codes to worry about.
