DSL sharing with 1 dynamic IP

I plan to get SBC Yahoo DSL which gives you 1 dynamic IP address. I plan to have 3 computers hooked up to my Netgear WGR614 wireless router with built-in DHCP to share the connection.
The DHCP assignes a unique IP to each computer on the network so that they all can use the connection at the same time. Is this right? And if this was possible, why would anyone need the 5 static IPs that SBC Yahoo has in their more expensive packages?

You are right about all your computers being able to use the same connection.
The reason SBC offers a package with 5 static IP’s is because some folks need to run FTP or web servers. When that’s the case you must be using a static IP address.

Make sure you qualify for the Standard Plus package from SBC. If you are very far from the Central Office, they will switch you to the same priced Basic Package which is only 384Kbps/128Kbps, without telling you the difference. You have to ask and make sure your line qualifies for the Standard Plus package before signing up. Make them check/test first. Unless the slower connection is OK by you for the same price and one year agreement.
