I have finally realized my problem with port forwarding. The DSL modem my ISP gave me is also a router but ha only one port and I dont want to use their router. I have a D-Link wirelss router and I want to use it for all the port forwarding, etc. Is there any way I can get the DSL modem/router to stop assigning the router a local IP and just send any information sent to my public IP to the router so I can route the information through port forwarding on the D-link router instead of having to forward ports to the router and then again to which computer I want.

Call your ISP and ask them how to set your router to bridge.

Then you can use your router to direct ports.
