Hello all...
Prior to acquiring DSL service, I was running Cable internet and had an Apache webserver up and running without problems.
Now, I am running DSL using a DSL Modem/Router by the name of Westell Wirespeed Model: B90-220030-04 Rev: E.
My problem is, my IP is showing up under ipconfig as the internal 192.168.... when I need it to show the external / public ip of 68...... When I run my Apache web server, it does not appear to even be instantiated as the browser states the page cannot be displayed.
When i go to my modem configuration using http://launchmodem I see under Connection Information the IP address of 68.... (public), yet, scrolling down I see the Modem IP Address of 192....
The setup is the DSL modem is plugged in to the wall jack via phoneline, the ethernet port is going straight to a linksys 5 port workgroup hub. Then each NIC from 3 computers is going into the same hub. Of course the power for hub and modem are ac adapted to the wall jack.
This causes problems with my Apache web server and hosting / playing a few games that I enjoy, ex Delta Force. The main problem is that my systems like to freeze at various intervals throughout the day while connected to the DSL, forcing a restart on each machine.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in Advance!

for the wirespeeds you need to enable IP Passthrough..this will give your computer the IP that your ISP assigns you..make sure NAT is not configured..DHCP doesn't matter
OR you can put the wirespeed in bridge mode which will require your Mac to login with PPPoE

Hello..
I enabled IP Passthrough, DHCP is enabled also. I have not defined a custom service for NAT but there are several listed in the drop down box of the configuration screen, should I delete them? How do I disable NAT, and is that a good idea to do so?
Bob

I still have the private IP address listed under IP config instead of the public IP address, why doesn't the IP show up as 68... when I run ipconfig? I enabled IP Passthrough, but still I am still having the same problem... Could it be caused by NAT? Thanks for your assistance.
Bob

Its showing up how I needed it to in IPconfig. Its letting me run Apache and my game, thanks for the information Justin.
